I know, I know – packing away winter things is probably the last thing you feel like doing when the sun is shining and the ice cream van just pulled up in the street. But believe me, it is worth it!
Having all things ‘bulky’ and ‘winter’ packed away free up valuable space and save precious time. There will be less distraction and you will find the things you do need for summer without having to trawl through all things winter. The ‘seasonal swap’ (as I like to call it), only has to happen every six months so it is definitely worth spending some time going through everything in one big swoop. It is also an ideal time to declutter the items you haven’t used all winter, so next winter you start off with only the items you love and use.
To help you, I’ve put together this step-by-step guide. It all starts with setting aside some time, either one afternoon over the weekend or tackling it over a couple of evenings during the week. Investing some time now will save you tons of time and your future self will thank you all summer long. The guide will help you through all the steps from getting all the winter items together into one place to helping you decide how and where the best options might be for storing everything for the season. I have also included a handy-dandy checklist (because who doesn’t love ticking off boxes) so you can keep track, see progress and get the job done!
Before you know it, winter will be packed away and you will enjoy the sunshine even more! If you have never packed away seasonal items, why not give it a go and find out if you love it as much as I do.
Put on your favourite music and let’s do this!
